Nightjar Walk

June 25 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

Join us out at Crowle Moors to see if we can hear and see this elusive strange bird.

Nightjars are nocturnal birds and can be seen hawking for food at dusk and dawn.

Their cryptic, grey-brown, mottled, streaked and barred plumage provides ideal camouflage in the daytime.

The first indication that a nightjar is near is usually the male’s churring song, rising and falling with a ventriloquial quality.

Just as the darkness arrives, the Nightjar appears.

This is a FREE event and no booking is required – just come along and meet us at Crowle Moors Car Park.

Please dress appropriately and wear sturdy footwear as we will be walking through the moorland.
