Thorne Community Wood 25th Anniversary Event
Guided Walk – Morning Session 10am to 12pm
To celebrate 25 years of Thorne Community Wood, the Friends will be giving a short talk at the nearby Thorne Sea Cadets Hall about the site’s history, followed by a guided tour of the wood. Due to the limited number of places on the walk, booking is essential.
PLEASE NOTE:
– The presentation will last around 15 minutes. The walk will last between 1hr to 1.5hrs, and will be at a moderate pace.
– The event will include walking over rough ground, possibly in wet and muddy conditions. It will also involve crossing stiles and steps.
– Suitable footwear and clothing must be worn.
– No dogs are permitted.
– Tickets limited to 2 per household.
– Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Main Event – 11am to 1:30pm
Celebrate 25 years of Thorne Community Wood with a day of free events including talks, family activities and the chance to meet the volunteers and other groups involved with the wood.
Activities will be taking place near the Car Park area of the wood and at the nearby Thorne Sea Cadets building. You can also bring your lunch along and join us for a picnic!
Zog Family Activities – 11am to 1pm
Are you a dragon desperate to be top of the class?
A princess with a desire to be a doctor?
Join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary with a roarsome reading of Julia Dondaldson’s Zog.
Activities include:
– Interactive reading of the story
– Dragon messy play
– Make your own flying pet dragon
– Medical play activities for budding doctors & nurses
– Knight, princess and dragon crafts
