FULLY BOOKED – Walking Axholme’s Past
A walk with local author Robert Fish. This walk will begin at St Andrew’s Church and using examples along the way will explore the triumphs and tragedies over a thousand years of Axholme history. Come along and find out about a Magna Carta Baron, a clockmaker and inventor who revolutionised steel making, a holy well, a Calvinist preacher whose writings travelled with the Pilgrim Fathers to the New World and a riot that changed the course of British electioneering.
There will also be the chance to spot wildlife along the way.
Starting at 10am at St Andrew’s Church, Epworth. Public facilities will be available in the village.
Please wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable to the weather conditions. Please bring your own lunch and drink.
