The Partnership was set up in 2013 as a bid development group under the auspices of the Humberhead Levels Partnership to seek funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). Following a successful development phase the Partnership is now seeking to appoint staff.
Located in the Humberhead Levels National Landscape Character Area the area covered by the Partnership includes parishes in the Boroughs of North Lincolnshire and Doncaster. This unique area straddles the historic county boundary between Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It contains one of the country’s earliest large scale drained and engineered landscapes; the ecologically rich raised mires of the Thorne and Hatfield Moors, and; the landscape scale remnant medieval open field systems of the Isle of Axholme.
The aim of the Partnership is to reconnect local people and communities with their landscape and the heritage within it. As the Project Manager you will therefore, have a background in community engagement and project management and will encourage and promote the involvement in and ownership of the partnership by local people.
The Partnership’s Landscape Conservation Action Plan (LCAP) has sixteen established projects to deliver over five years. You will have responsibility for the delivery of several of these projects and for securing the engagement of local people in them. You will oversee the delivery of the partnership’s Community Engagement Strategy (CES) and support the project work of various partnering groups and organisations.
You will work collaboratively with a small delivery group which you will manage and ensure the development of. You will recruit, develop and retain volunteers and, encourage and support the development of new projects. Through the delivery group you will arrange partnership events and promote the Partnership and its achievements through various media based around the Partnership’s web site.
This is an important and responsible post based at North Lincolnshire Council offices in Scunthorpe, reporting to the Partnership’s Steering Group and the HLF it will be line managed by the council. You will however, be required to work from several office locations across the partnership area. The post offers home working by arrangement and flexible working hours; eligibility for membership of a Local Government Pension Scheme, and; travel and subsistence allowances.
