Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the #IoAHC Medieval Manor Day in Epworth.
Over 170 people joined us despite the rain and high winds first thing ? Thanks to everyone who hosted a stall or gave a talk on the day ?
A big thanks to all the volunteers! ?
Over the two-week dig we had over 150 volunteer places available – all were booked! We hope you all enjoyed your digging experience and we have more opportunities like this coming up so watch this space!
A massive thumbs up to Epworth Primary School and South Axholme Academy.
We had over 130 students visit the site all taking part in activities such as finds washing and sieving. We are hugely grateful to the eagle-eyed student who spotted a medieval dice in the spoil heap whilst sieving! Thanks to Adam and Ramona for supporting the project ?
Also, thank you to everyone who joined us for our Family Archaeology Day. We had 30 children and their families on site having lots of digging fun ?
Thanks to St Andrew’s Church for use of the church and supporting the project.
Thanks to Epworth Town Council and the local residents who allowed us access to dig test pits.
The next stage of the project is to a compile a report of what was found. The #IoAHC team will then look into options for sharing this information with the public. Keep checking back for updates.
