Crowle The White Hart
This public house claims to be the oldest on the Isle of Axholme. Situated on the High Street, Crowle, this grade II listed building dates from the 16th or 17th Century. The building has undergone remodelling works in the late 17th/ early 18th Century and again in 1985. Work during the 1980’s exposed some timber frames which suggests the present building incorporates two adjoining timber-framed buildings. The inn was initially owned by New Trent Brewery before being sold to Barnsley Brewery.
